Business Central The Setup

Source codes are used to determine how a certain item was created, for example, when posting via a payment receipt ledger sheet. When setting up a new client, these are automatically filled in by Business Central.

Set up Source Codes

The Source code setup page contains all available booking types as well as the names of all batch processes that generate entries. Next to each booking type there is the source code in abbreviated form.

With this setup, Dynamics 365 Business Central knows which source code should be used for which posting.
