Business Central: Set up a
Warehouse
Location

Various warehouse locations can be set up and defined in the ERP system Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. If you want to set up a new warehouse location, you should consider the following recommendations to avoid unwanted side effects.

Warehouse Locations

Set up at least one Warehouse Location

In Dynamics 365 Business Central there should always be at least one warehouse location set up. If this is not the case, the value “Empty” is displayed in the “Bin” field.

If you want to analyze your items according to availability in the warehouse locations, go to “Item” in the corresponding item card in the ribbon and then to “Item Availability by”. Then select “Location”.

Item Card - Item Availability by - Location

This window now displays all items with the corresponding warehouse locations. Except for those with the value “Empty” in the “Bin” field.

Set up Warehouse Employees

In order to be able to execute certain functions in logistics, the end user should be set up as a warehouse employee. You can set this up on the “Warehouse Employees” page.
