ERP Selection: Microsoft is
pushing the Global
Availability of Business Central
Availability
Most companies use the same ERP solution for all divisions of the company to avoid problems caused by information silos, multiple answers to the same questions and confusion on the part of employees. At the same time, however, they are under pressure from local regulations and laws. Microsoft is therefore determined to make Dynamics 365 Business Central available worldwide for its customers.
Company Growth also has an Impact on your Software
In our globalized world, many companies are looking to expand their business nationally and internationally. This goal is aided by the importance of the internet and the virtually unlimited possibilities of electronic commerce. As your business grows, this naturally has an impact on the business software you use.
Local ERP Systems: Difficulties when expanding abroad
In many cases, companies opt for a local ERP system when they take their first steps abroad because the solution is not tailored to the local conditions and there may be no local support available if difficulties arise.
Microsoft has therefore decided to make this process much easier for its customers and implementation partners - by developing more and more localized or country-specific versions for its ERP solution Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Directions EMEA 2021: 40% Growth in Localized BC Versions
At the last Directions event for the EMEA region in Milan, Microsoft already announced a spectacular increase in the number of localized versions of Business Central - from 49 to 69. This corresponds to an increase of 40 percent compared to the previous year! Moreover, this is twice as many as are currently available for Dynamics NAV.
You have these Advantages with Localized or Country-specific Versions
To understand the background even better: localized or country-specific versions enable…
-
…the provision of Business Central in the country language and country currency and in compliance with local laws and regulations on a continuous basis.
-
…the availability of local service providers in all these countries who know the localized version inside out, speak the language of the country and understand the culture.
-
…access to a local helpdesk that provides support in the country language and in the local time zone. This means that you are never alone if you have problems with the software.
Mike Morton: “Making Business Central available worldwide”
These are all aspects that will improve the quality of your implementation and your international expansions. But that’s not all. Mike Morton - the General Manager for Microsoft Dynamics 365 BC - also announced that Microsoft plans to “make Business Central available worldwide.”
If you are not yet using Business Central, you should ask yourself how many country-specific versions your current ERP vendor supports. Does this match the growth you are planning for your own company in the near future?
Long-term planning Security with a Product Roadmap
A product roadmap can also help you decide on an ERP solution. This is a kind of plan for the long-term service and the development process of a software solution. This means that you can use the roadmap to quickly recognize which service changes and new features are planned in the near future or over the entire lifecycle. If you use the roadmap during the selection process, you have additional planning certainty.
ERP Selection: consider the Global Availability of the Solution
Ultimately, as part of your ERP selection, you should always check whether your potential vendors have a global offering. And in how many countries relevant to you this solution is actively supported. We recommend that you choose the (soon to be) “world’s best ERP solution for SMEs” that has a global partner ecosystem.
