Microsoft’s results for FY24 Q4 were published on June 30 after the close of trading at 10 p.m. German time. The technology group closed its fiscal year 2024 with a aolid result - CFO Amy Hood highlighted the high cloud revenue in particular. Increases in all Key Figures in the fourth and final Quarter of Fiscal Year 2024

  • Microsoft’s revenue amounted to $64.7 billion - and increased by 15%.

  • The operating income amounted to $27.9 billion - this figure is also 15% higher compared to the same quarter of the previous year.

Commenting on the results, Satya Nadella, Chairman and CEO of Microsoft, said: “Our strong performance this fiscal year speaks both to our innovation and to the trust customers continue to place in Microsoft. As a platform company, we are focused on meeting the mission-critical needs of our customers across our at-scale platforms today, while also ensuring we lead the AI era.”

Solid Fiscal Year with Record Bookings and a strong Increase in Cloud Revenue

“We closed out our fiscal year with a solid quarter, highlighted by record bookings and Microsoft Cloud quarterly revenue of $36.8 billion, up 21% (up 22% in constant currency) year-over-year,” added Amy Hood, Executive Vice President and CFO of Microsoft.

Dynamics Products and Cloud drive Growth

Dynamics products and cloud services revenue was 16% higher in FY24 Q4 compared to the same quarter of the previous year, driven by Dynamics 365 revenue growth of 19%.

Furthermore, revenue from Azure and other cloud services increased by 29%.

In the Intelligent Cloud segment, revenue amounted to $28.5 billion, which was an increase of 19%.

Increase of 61%: Gaming with a big Jump in Sales

The Xbox and Gaming segment recorded a remarkable jump in revenue of 61%, with the majority of this increase being due to the acquisition of Activision Blizzard King by Microsoft at the end of last year. Since then, Microsoft has owned popular video games such as “Call of Duty”, “Overwatch” and “Candy Crush”.

The results for Microsoft’s fiscal year 2024 as compared to fiscal year 2023 were as follows.

  • Microsoft achieved total revenue of $245.1 billion, an increase of 16%.
  • The operating income amounted to $109.4 billion and increased by 24%.
  • Total net income amounted to $88.1 billion and increased by 22%.
  • Earnings per share amounted to $11.8 - here too there was an increase of 22%.
