Price Adjustment effective February 1, 2026 Microsoft
lowers Prices
for
Commercial
Cloud
Services ⬇️

Prices for Microsoft’s commercial cloud services will decrease in five local currencies, including the euro zone, starting February 1, 2026. The aim is to reflect the weak US dollar and harmonize prices. What should you keep in mind regarding the price adjustment?

New Prices for Cloud Products effective February 1, 2026: Details of the Price Reduction

Microsoft regularly harmonizes prices to offset currency fluctuations and thus ensure a globally uniform price in the long term.

The group reviews prices every six months. In September 2025, there were no currency-related price adjustments. Now, the first price reduction in the affected currencies in recent memory is taking place:

In addition to the euro, the following currencies are also affected by price harmonization (price reductions in %):

  • Swiss franc (CHF): -9.5%
  • Danish krone (DKK): -7.4%
  • Norwegian krone (NOK): -7.2%
  • Swedish krona (SEK): -13.5%

This change affects all commercial cloud services. Meanwhile, on-premises prices remain unchanged.

Products particularly affected by Harmonization

Please note: The percentage changes for individual SKUs may vary slightly due to price calculations and rounding rules.

Azure Prices remain Unchanged

Since Azure services are priced in US dollars, the harmonization has no effect on them.

What will happen to your Subscriptions?

Existing subscriptions will retain their previous price until the renewal date. For new subscriptions booked on or after February 1, 2026, the new lower price will apply.

Examples with Different Subscription and Billing Plans

Monthly Subscription

If your subscription has a monthly term and your billing date is February 1, 2026, or a date after February 1, your February invoice should include the new lower price.

Annual Subscription and Monthly Billing

For an existing subscription with an annual term, the price will generally remain the same until the renewal date.

If you purchase a new subscription on or after February 1, 2026, or if your existing subscription renews on or after that date, you will receive it at the new, lower price.

Please note: Currency-related price harmonizations do not normally affect monthly fees during the term - they only affect purchases and renewals of subscriptions.

Annual Subscription and Annual Billing

Nothing will change during the term of subscriptions with an annual term and annual billing. Here, the new prices will also apply to renewals and new purchases on or after February 1, 2026.

Triennial Subscription (Billing in full in Advance or Annually in Advance)

For subscriptions with a three-year term, nothing will change during the term either. Here, too, the new prices apply to renewals and new purchases made on or after February 1, 2026.

Falling Prices ⬇️ for Commercial Cloud Services in the Euro Zone - On-premises Prices remain Unchanged

Commercial cloud prices will decrease effective February 1, 2026, while on-premises prices will remain unchanged - making the cloud even more attractive overall. If you are considering migrating to the cloud, Microsoft’s Bridge to Cloud 3 promotion may be of interest to you: it not only enables a more relaxed transition phase from on-premises to the cloud, but also offers financial benefits.

Since global price increases for Microsoft 365 and Office 365 will take effect on July 1, 2026, there will be a favorable window between February and July. You should therefore consider renewing your subscriptions for these products at a lower price or purchasing new subscriptions during this period (if possible). If you also opt for a multi-year term, you can save even more.

Outlook: The next price harmonization by Microsoft could take place in September 2026.
